AIBA adopts open scoring system

AIBA, the International Boxing Association, has adopted a new scoring system that it hopes will improve transparency within the sport.

During the upcoming AIBA World Championships, members of the public will be able to see not only the running scores during the matches but also the accepted scores of the five judges adjudicating the contest.

"This is a completely open system," said AIBA President Dr Ching-Kuo Wu. "I believe this is a very important step towards the total transparency of our sport."
