Extended deadline for early birds to Play the Game 2017

In less than three months, Play the Game opens the doors for its 10^th international conference. With 99 abstracts submitted, many delivered in the past month, the reviewers of the programme committee have been given extra time to review the incoming abstracts that will make up large parts of the Play the Game 2017 conference programme.

Since the tentative programme is a bit delayed, it has been decided to extend the deadline for registering at the early bird price, too.

The new deadline is 22 September, which means that you have three more weeks to secure your participation at this unique sports political forum offering an authentic, fact-based debate between stakeholders in sport. The tentative programme is expected to be published in the first week of September.

A tentative programme will be available shortly and the speakers list already presents an impressive line-up.  WADA’s President Craig Reedie and investigators Richard H. McLaren and Hajo Seppelt are among the already confirmed top speakers to contribute to the series of debates and presentations that take place throughout the conference. As always, Play the Game 2017 is ready to raise burning issues in world sport and anticipates factual and reasoned debates on the selected conference themes.

After a wave of unbelievable scandals in sport, good governance in sports organisations has become a buzzword. Play the Game 2017 asks whether there has been any real change, and if yes, has it led to a better reality? Experts and opinion makers will gather at Play the Game 2017 and give their views on how sports organisations are riding the waves of change.

The current developments in the fight against doping will also be put to a test during Play the Game 2017 when leading stakeholders discuss whether the battle is looking at a breakthrough or a breakdown and how to make the anti-doping work become more transparent, fair and efficient.  

With the conference venue located in Eindhoven, the heart of the so-called ‘Brain-port’ region in the Netherlands, known as a vibrant centre for inventors, innovators and entrepreneurs in sport, Play the Game 2017 and local partners will discuss and showcase new ways of doing and organising sport.  Innovative approaches and ideas will be tested, trying to identify the opportunities and challenges for traditional and new stakeholders in sport.
