International Sports Law Conference in The Hague

The Asser International Sports Law Centre (AISLC) hosts its first annual International Sports Law Conference on the 26-27 October 2017 in The Hague.

On October 26-27, the Asser International Sports Law Centre (AISLC) is hosting an international sports law conference. The conference will feature panels on the Court of Arbitration for Sport, human rights and sports, the FIFA transfer regulations, the world anti-doping system, the labour rights of athletes, as well as panels on EU law and sport

A series of experts in the field of sports law will speak at the conference, including:

  • Richard McLaren, CAS arbitrator, sports law scholar and former head of the World Anti-Doping Agency’s (WADA) investigation into the Russian doping scandal
  • Miguel Maduro, former Advocate General at the Court of Justice of the EU and former head of FIFA’s Governance Committee
  • Stephen Weatherill, Professor at Oxford University and a scholarly authority on EU law and sport
  • Michael Beloff QC, English barrister known as one of the ‘Godfathers’ of sports law
