IOC ranks last on accountability
A report published this week by One World Trust, a British independent think tank, ranks the IOC as the least transparent among 30 organisations, scoring just 32 % of 100 %.

A report published this week by One World Trust, a British independent think tank, ranks the IOC as the least transparent among 30 organisations, scoring just 32 % of 100%.
According to the Annual Global Accountability Report, published this week by One World Trust, an independent British think tank, the IOC is the least accountable global organisation.
The report ranks 30 organisations from intergovernmental, non-governmental, and corporate sectors following an index based on dimensions such as transparency, participation, self-evaluation and dealing with complaints.
In this year’s report, the IOC comes in last in the over all score, with the lowest score on transparency. In fact, the IOC scores badly on all the sectors average except in participation because of a large incorporation by stakeholders in the IOC governance.
“However, these strong capabilities are offset by its inequitable member control that provides several key powers to the IOC President and Executive Board that are unchecked by the IOC session”, it says in the report.
